This week, Pastor Andrea Fluegel and Jack Palmer begin discussing the theme, "Sacred Words." How do we pass along God's Word from one generation to the next. We think everything is okay so we don't pass along the sacred words, the language of God to future generations. When our focus becomes primarily on our own security and about us, then complacency and inaction take over. For instance, in the Great Depression, religion was failing to articulate a meaningful message to a society immersed in poverty and despair. How are we using sacred words today?
This series is based on Jonathan Merritt's book, "Learning to Speak God from Scratch." There are words that we often use such as grace, neighbor, and sin. But do we actually understand what they mean? In conversations with others, are we using the words in the same way and meaning the same thing? In this series, we explore some of these words.
