Second Sunday in Lent
Today’s scripture comprises three interrelated but separate stories – the third passion prediction, the disciples misunderstanding what Jesus says again, and what discipleship looks like with the healing of a blind man. In these stories, we hear again of how the disciples are quick to claim the benefits of God’s kingdom but are slow to hear the costs of participating in it. Jesus once again tells the disciples that the economy of God’s kingdom is not based on power and control but on service and giving.
Scripture References: Mark 10:32-52
