Sacred Words: Mystery and Disillusionment

Passage: Matthew 21:1-11
Service Type:

This week, we explore the sacred words of "mystery" and "disillusionment." Disillusionment is defined as a feeling of disappointment because something or someone was not as "good" as you thought it or they should be. Pastor Andrea Fluegel and Jack Palmer discuss these sacred words within the context of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, what we have come to know as Palm Sunday. How is it that we view God? Do we feel that God is meeting our expectations and if not are we disillusioned and disappointed? Author Anne Lamott says, "Expectations are resentments under construction." Instead, how do we live into the mystery of God?
