The Gift of the Nutcracker: Drosselmeir

Passage: Isaiah 40:1-5, Matthew 24:4-8
Service Type:

This Advent season, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is exploring this time of waiting for the birth of Jesus through the classic Christmas ballet, "The Nutcracker." It is a come-of-age story about a girl named Clara who receives a gift of a nutcracker from her Godpapa Drosselmeir.

John VanHise, Jack Palmer, and Pastor Andrea Fluegel reflect on Matt Rawle's book, "The Gift of the Nutcracker." In this book, Matt Rawle discusses the gift of God's grace through the lens of the story of the Nutcracker. This week's discussion focuses on Godpapa Drosselmeir and God's gift of love and grace through the birth of Jesus Christ.

Midweek Advent worship will use "The Gift of the Nutcracker" as the theme. This worship experience includes community youth as Clara, Fritz, the Mouse King, and the Nutcracker. Worship is on Wednesdays, December 4, 11, and 18, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
