Worship Experience: Straight to the Heart

Pastor:
Passage: Luke 24:13-35, 1 Peter 1:20-23
Service Type:

Bible Text: Luke 24:13-35, 1 Peter 1:20-23 | Pastor: Andrea Fluegel | Series: Heart of the Matter | What is our Emmaus Road? After the women discover the empty tomb and tell the rest of the disciples of Jesus about what they had seen (and not seen), two disciples head down the road seven miles from Jerusalem to Emmaus. Along the way, they met who they think is a stranger, a man. Later in the breaking of bread, in the sharing of a meal, they realize it is Jesus. But they are called to more that just realize who Jesus is. They are called into a community of fellow believers. They are called into a specific way of life that unconditionally loves and serves the neighbor and stranger alike. Jesus gets straight to the heart of the matter.

For this interactive worship, you will need snacks or your favorite foods/meal, a candle for lighting (or a flashlight or cell phone), and a worry stone (any rock will work). You are welcome to draw or color a heart every time you hear the word heart or love in this worship experience.

A PDF version of the order of service (bulletin) and a downloadable audio version of the sermon are below. The bulletin includes the words to the hymns.

If you would like to support the mission of Prince of Peace so that we can continue worship, community outreach, and other ministries, you can give any amount by cash, check, online, through  the Give+ app by Vanco, or by sending a text to 833-394-7887 (text  your dollar amount and follow the prompts).  Thank you for your generosity.
