We are in the first week of a six-week series called Lost and Found. We continue to explore how the promises of God are fulfilled in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus through the lens of the Gospel of Luke. In this episode, we explore three parables – the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. The central question is whether the Pharisees and us will welcome persons outside of our world-made boundaries, and join with heaven in rejoicing at finding and welcoming all people to Jesus’ table of expansive grace. These parables are more than just about recovering the lost. They are about extending the table of God to include all – sinners and Pharisees. Who are you inviting to God’s table? How is God inviting you to the table?
