Third week of a six-week series called The End of All Things on Revelation 5. What John sees in his vision is not a lion, but a Lamb, standing as if it had been slaughtered. Jesus, from the line of King David, from Judah, was also the one who sacrificed his life for the life of others. By his birth, death and resurrection, he is both the lion and the lamb. He conquered evil, sin, and death, the brokenness of this world with his own life. When human beings conquer, they do so by inflicting death and damage on their adversaries. However, the Lamb conquers by faithfully enduring death, and the result of his conquest is that people of every tribe, language, and nation are brought into a new relationship with God.
