MANY THANKS to Tim Wright for volunteering to fill Jim Moravec’s term on Church Council. (Tho’ Tim has not volunteered to take over Jim’s green thumb activities in the church). Jim has left a big hole to fill, yet we are confident in Tim’s ability to bring his own gifts to the table. You have our support Tim!

CHURCH CLEAN UP DAY – will be Oct 11 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a ‘rain out’ day of Oct 18. Lunch will be provided! Clean up includes raking and picking up trash to washing windows and conducting a deep clean of the kitchen. BYOB (bring your own bucket). Contact Jerrie Van Haverbeke with any question at 715-479-6103.

SUNDAY OCT 5 is PET BLESSING SUNDAY – Bring your pet or a picture of your pet for a special blessing at the beginning of worship. Pastor will be available to bless pets in the parking lot following worship. We will also collect pet food & kitty litter for the Vilas Food Pantry.

TIME & TALENTS – our Stewardship mailing has been sent. Please consider the ministries and clearly identify the responses of each person in your household. Thank you to everyone who is willing to share their time and talents!

CHRISTIAN’S WOMENS LUNCHEON – the next gathering will be on Oct 14 at Chubby’s in Eagle River at 11:30. The ‘hostess with the mostest’ this month is Debbie Roder. Please RSVP to Debbie at debbieroder4@gmail.com. [as always, no boys allowed.]

MINUTES AND FINANCIALS – there are copies of the Church Council minutes and financials on the table in the Narthex.

MOVIE NIGHT THANK YOUs – many thanks to all who attended our summer movie night season. We were sponsored by five different members of the congregation. We greatly appreciate the financial support and the participation!

YELLOW PAGES UPDATE – In January of 2026 – a new church directory will be created (in house) with the updates since the last one. Please check, verify and update your information in the accordion binder on the name badge table. If a change is made, place it in the accordion binder vertically and we will update “accordionly”. (hee hee). Please add your birthday and/or anniversary if you would like us to recognize these dates.

GOD’S WORK – OUR HANDS t-shirts -are available in the Narthex at $10 per shirt. Payment is on the honor system.

PASS THE PEACE – NOT COOTIES – The cold and flu season is upon us. Please pass the peace as you feel comfortable. Our final order of personal use sanitizers has been made. In the future, use the numerous larger containers of hand sanitizer we have throughout the church.

FUN FACT – in the Marine Corps – “Field Day” would happen every Thursday. It is a tradition focused on cleaning and maintaining barracks, emphasizing discipline, health, and mission readiness. Both work areas and living quarters would be cleaned thoroughly. In boot camp, we would have to pass the white glove test. Standards were less strict – though only slightly – once out in the fleet. All window blinds were dusted, tops of doors cleaned, and of course, the mandatory ride on the floor buffer would occur at least once by someone. No one was secured for liberty until everyone was done. Jerrie has assured us she will not be as strict on “Church Clean Up” day. There may be rides on the lawn tractor and only snowmobile gloves will be used for inspection purposes.

NOTES FROM ANN – The picture at the top is the sight that awaited me this morning as I arrived. I love looking up at the steeple when I arrive. I wasn’t able to capture exactly what I wanted to convey. It still lifts my heart. The picture that follows is explained.
