She received an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from the Milwaukee Area Technical College and has worked for a major health insurer, metallurgical engineers, and a social service organization before moving to the Northwoods. Her passions in life are quilting, sewing, crafting, and her dogs, Murphy and Sammy. Kerry is a member of the Cranberry Country Quilters guild and is the administrator of their website. One of her favorite scripture verses is Psalm 62:1-2, My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress. I will never be shaken. Among her favorite hymns are Great Is Thy Faithfulness and In Christ Alone.
Organist / Pianist
I am a charter member of Prince of Peace, as are my two oldest children, Kyle and Alyssa. Lauren (Jiajie) was baptized at Prince of Peace shortly after joining our family in 1996. I received my undergraduate degree at Northern Michigan University with majors in special education and elementary education and minors in psychology and music. I was a piano student of Dr. Harold Wright at NMU for 3 years. I received my masters in education degree from Marian University and add on certificates in Learning Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh and health from University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point.
I have been a teacher in the Phelps School District since 1975. When summer comes and the weather is warm, you’ll find me swinging away (many times!) on the golf course. I love the words and tune of Jesus Savior Pilot Me (ELW 755). Since a young child, Luke 18:15-17 has had special meaning to me. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
I am thankful for the leadership of Pastor Andrea and the support and appreciation of the congregation. I feel so blessed to be able to serve Prince of Peace as a longtime member and a musician.
