Seder Dinner
There will be a Passover Seder at 4:00 pm on Maundy Thursday, April 2, prior to the Maundy Thursday service.
The Passover Seder is the same meal and collection of prayers and readings that Jesus observed on the night of his betrayal. It was during this Passover observance that He washed the feet of his disciples, and for the first time gave the bread, representing His body, and the wine, representing His blood.
Our meal and observance will be an abbreviated version of the customary Seder.
If you’ve never attended a Seder, you are encouraged to attend. For the Jewish people it is a remembrance of their Exodus from Egypt, and what God did for them in freeing them from their bondage. Hence the food, prayers, and instructions are exactly as described in Exodus 12:1-11.
