FUN FACT: Not church related. You may have seen the freeze-dried candy popping up everywhere over the past few years. Freeze drying became popular due to the process being used for outerspace travel. Thank NASA and an astronaut next time you reach for a tasty treat. A remarkable benefit of freeze-drying is its ability to retain the candy’s original flavor and texture. This process uses minimal heat, avoiding the chemical changes that other traditional drying methods might cause, which often affect taste. Instead, freeze-drying captures the natural sweetness, intensity, and aroma of the candy, resulting in a product that tastes just like a fresh counterpart. This method also enhances the texture by creating a unique, airy crunch that is light and crispy, contrasting with the chewiness or stickiness of conventional sweets. The distinct, intense flavor retention makes freeze-dried candy a popular choice among consumers who seek a novel snack experience. … In case you were wondering.
ANN’s notes – Not a timely picture of the Northern Lights – but it is a recent one. This time – the auroras couldn’t be viewed with the naked eye – but they showed themselves via the camera. I don’t care how many times I have seen the Northern Lights – each and every time is magical. Our community is waking up during the mud season. Starting to plan events. FORK has a fundraiser on the river June 7th that sounds interesting. Toad in the Hole is pairing up with Mary Kate’s for a wine tasting/dinner event Jun 9th. There is talk around our church about making every Sunday “Kayak Sunday” depending on the weather. Not sure when it is going to start up – but get ready. For as much as I like the winter, there comes a point each year during this time – when you get a brief whiff of summer in the wind. That smell of dirt and rebirth. The tinge of warmth that teases of days on the lake. The trill of birds who we haven’t heard for months. I don’t know about you – but those signs stir something deep inside of me. An excitement about the change ahead of us and the opportunities which await in the upcoming months. Thankful for the change of seasons – anchors me in gratefulness.
