NOTES FROM ANN: Several years ago I lost my wedding ring and my Marine Corps ring. I could not figure out where I had left them. I posted about it on FaceBook. Because that is what I do. I treat FB as my diary and my cheater way of staying in touch and as my lamenting area – where I complain about stuff. And also realize when I start typing about my complaint – that it really isn’t a complaint at all. However – losing my rings was a big deal. A friend of mine reached out and told me the sure fire way to find something that was lost. She said – clear your mind and then clench your buttocks. For some reason – this exercise will allow you to find the missing object.

My reaction was right along the same lines as what you are thinking right now – no way – that’s ridiculous.

Desperate times call for desperate measures (and this coming from the person whose super power is finding stuff). I cleared my mind, clenched and thought about my rings. And I found them! I remembered I had left them at the fitness studio when I got a massage. Made a phone call, someone looked and there were my rings!

I’m a believer. The clarity of thought in the moment was wonderful. Lately, when I have been driving, I have had amazing clarity regarding God’s word. It has happened three times. Each time I’ve told myself – I will remember this and share it. And each time I have forgotten what has made it so clear. I’m going to put a notebook in my car so the next time it happens, I can pull over and document it. Would love to hear about your moments of clarity – when the meaning of God’s word became so clear – it wow’d you.

Update on Burt’s present – he did see it before his birthday. Not on Tuesday when it arrived. Not on Wednesday. But on Thursday – he noticed the lamp and didn’t say anything to me. I asked him why? He said, “‘Because when I noticed it – I thought to myself – what crazy thing has my wife done now?’ and moved on with my day – accepting your wackiness in my life.” Aw – that’s love right there. He thought it was cool.

Finally – this is Memorial Day weekend – a time for remembering those who have passed away in service to our country. I’ve attached a poem I have shared with you before. It touches me deeply.
