SHALL WE GATHER AT THE RIVER? – Some members of our congregation would like to gather at the T docks and kayak ‘oar’ canoe to church. We will have our first trip on June 1 and depending on how many show an interest in this event, we will try to schedule this for at least one Sunday each month. We plan to meet at the T docks at 8:00 am. We can bring some extra kayaks if needed. Please contact Tim and/or Betty Wright with questions.

FUN FACTS – · Everyone had a mother. · Gaia, or Mother Earth, was the first goddess in Greek Mythology. · Polar bear moms put on about 400 lb during pregnancy. · The longest pregnancy recorded was 375 days. · The mom with the most kids was Mrs. Feodor Vassilyev of Russia. She gave birth to 69 children between 1725 and 1765. · When mothers smile, coo, and show affection to their babies, their heartbeats synchronize into the same beat.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come”. Proverbs 31:25

NOTES FROM ANN: This week the Front Office was able to experience a God Wink. Truly – it wasn’t just a wink – it was a wink and a nod. A member of our congregation came into the office to ask about assisting a local family. Keith and Becky Hernandez live in Eagle River. Keith was diagnosed with lymphona blood cancer, stage 2 in February. Neither one has been able to work due to Keith’s illness. Keith – due to the side effects from chemotherapy and Becky because she needs to be his caregiver. They have children as well. The community has been fundraising for the family, but more assistance is required. Our member was asking if the church had gas cards that could be donated to the family.

Our rule of thumb has been to refer people to IC Help. IC Help is funded by numerous churches in the area to assist people in our community. It provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ so people in need only have to call one number.

This is a different situation. But – we still don’t have gas cards on hand.

Here is where the God Wink & a Nod comes into play. It just so happened – that on Sunday – Pastor Grant was given money by an anonymous donor to use at his discretion. Are you kidding me? Could the timing have been any better? This God Wink was rather obvious – but they take place on a regular basis. We would love to hear about the last God Wink you experienced.

Let’s end with a toast to all of you Moms out there and to all of you who are being Moms by being the best Aunt, GodMom, maternal figure or by being present in someone’s life. Have a most wonderful day!
