ENDOWMENT GRANTS – Help the Endowment Team use our Endowment Fund as effectively as possible to enhance the mission outreach of Prince of Peace. As the fund’s custodian, the team is looking for ways to help the church ministry in the community. If you would like to offer a suggestion to the Endowment Team or financially contribute, get a request form from the narthex, the church office or the website. A donation of any amount will help immensely and be much appreciated. Recently our endowment made a contribution of $1,000 to the Children’s Museum, $250 to Leathernecks of the North, and $1,000 to Praise in the Pines.

TRUNK OR TREAT – Miss seeing all of the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes? We have a great opportunity for you! Prince of Peace will be hosting a Trick or Treat event in the Narthex. Bring 200 treats and decorate your space. It’s a ghoulishly good time. Fri, Oct 31 from 4 to 6 pm. Sign up in the Narthex to reserve your space.

YELLOW PAGES UPDATE – In January of 2026 – a new church directory will be created (in house) with the updates since the last one. Please check, verify and update your information in the accordion binder on the name badge table. If a change is made, place it in the accordion binder vertically and we will update “accordionly”. (hee hee). Please add your birthday and/or anniversary if you would like us to recognize these dates. (This will be a ‘no picture’ directory)

FUN FACTS – not only does Prince of Peace play a part in the Weekend Backpack Program – we also contribute to the IC Help program run by Northwoods Share. This enables local churches to help members in our community with a “one stop” shop. If you know of anyone who needs emergency financial support – have them call 715-891-8966.

NOTES FROM ANN – I’m 100% swiping the content of an email I received from the Gather magazine –

“Thankfulness as a state of being
Oct 12, 2025 01:00 am

We are called to give thanks! We are called to look upon the broken and fractured world and see God in its cracking, holding it and piecing us together. The thanks and praise reside not solely on a particular day but every day. We are called to see God in the mundane, in the joy, and as well as in the misery. We are called to extend Christ’s steps to the least of these and the forgotten in our society.

So, as I peer out at the people in my life – the ones I call family, beloved congregation, friends, colleagues, and strangers turned friends – I am blessed beyond measure. I have people in my life who love and care for me. I have communities that pray and uplift me. And I have deep friendships with people from all walks of life who bless me with their wisdom. So, as you wake up tomorrow, remember to be a little thankful and then share that thanks to the people you encounter in the world on the daily. Allow thankfulness to be a state of being.”

I cannot begin to tell you how many times I feel this deeply coming to work. So many of you give so much to this church in a variety of ways. Seeing it in quiet motion behind the scenes is humbling. Coming to church on Sundays and worshiping together and feeling the energy of our church – it is invigorating and such a powerful way to start the week. Thankfulness IS a state of being. I remain – truly thankful – to be here with all of you.

Speaking of behind the scenes – HUGE shoutout to Denis Del Ponte and Dave Tipple. They installed shades in the Fellowship Hall. We no longer have to hang tableclothes over the window for movie night. And if anyone wants to have a more private meeting – they are able to do so. (Now … Ann plots for a projector/sound system so we can have a screen lower from the ceiling …)

Picture of the day – another view from behind my keyboard – it catches my eye frequently. I feel as tho I have a front row seat to a sunset (or sunrise).
