PRAISE IN THE PINES – this event is coming up on Oct 18 at Northland Pines High School. We have received two complimentary vouchers – which have to be redeemed by Oct 12. If you are interested – please contact Pastor Grant.
NEW DIRECTORY IS OUT – and available in the Narthex.
PASS THE PEACE & NOT THE COOTIES – be mindful of cold and flu season. Plus all of the other nastiness floating around. There are masks and hand sanitizer in the Narthex. Use whatever you need. You can ‘fist bump’ like Jon. Give each other the elbow. Stand in a corner and wave. Do what makes you comfortable. Talk to your health care professional to find out if a flu shote is right for you. If you are feeling yucky – stay home. You can watch all the fun on YouTube. Wash your hands. Hydrate. Rest.
NOTES FROM ANN – No fun fact this week. I will have an overload of Panama Canal facts when I return. “A Man. A Plan. A Canal. Panama!” Says the same thing frontwards as it does backwards! One of my favorite palindromes – though it is multiple words not a singular word. The longest single word palindrome in use today is said to be the 19-letter Finnish word saippuakivikauppias, which means soapstone vendor.
Picture at the top is of our 7 month old muttley – Leinie. In a position of rest. Which doesn’t happen very often. I may be brave and attempt to bring him to church on Sunday. If I do – he will definitely have to go back outside as he is a vocal guy.
Following are the latest minutes and financials. Also posted in the entry way, on the bulletin board and in the Front Office window.
I’m not in the office on Oct 1. I will be in the office Oct 6. And then you will not see me until Oct 27. Pastor Grant has everything under control.
If you see Mark Licktieg – give him a ‘thank you’. He has been our lawn guy – pretty much non-stop – for the past couple of months. Even walking to church to complete the job when his car broke down. We definitely appreciate his efforts.
